Freestyle Fridays is a dynamic youth initiative created by Mus(ed) and MUSE GR that provides a safe, creative space for young people across Grand Rapids. Designed for teens ages 12–17, the program brings together art, music, entrepreneurship, mentorship, and community to foster belonging, self-expression, and personal growth.
What began as a pilot program has grown into a vibrant weekly gathering where youth can create art, explore music production, participate in open mic experiences, connect with positive mentors, and discover pathways to future careers and entrepreneurial opportunities.
More than just an event, Freestyle Fridays is an investment in the next generation. By providing meaningful connections and creative outlets during critical evening hours, the program helps build confidence, strengthen relationships, and create opportunities that empower young people to thrive. Through creativity, connection, and community, Freestyle Fridays is helping shape a brighter future for Grand Rapids youth.
